There have been described some signs and symptoms that regress with discontinuation of use, namely, rectal discomfort, irritation, burning sensation, colic and tenesmus.

Also, very rare cases of hyperaemia of the rectal mucosa may occur and, even more rarely, associated with a small hemorrhagic phenomenon, or with the discharge of mucus.
